This book has the widest range of fiction, non fiction, well known essays, 258 pages from Infinite Jest, plus entertaining classwork assignments from his teaching days. It spans from the very beginning of his career to the unfinished Pale Horse. It keeps numerous interruptions by other authors to a minimum.I bought a LOT of DFW books, autobiographies, books with the same material repeated in some (which couldn't be helped). But that's because I was 90% sure I'd like them all. I still started with this book & would recommend it for anyone who doesn't know where to start and would like to ease into it.
